LET'S EAT: CRITTER CHIPS & GUACAMOLDY

With Halloween just around the corner, my consumption of "fun size" candy has gotten a bit out of control, so I decided to find a festive recipe that wasn't a dessert. When I came across this recipe for chips and guacamole with a spooky twist, I knew I had to try it for myself. A departure from traditional Halloween sweets, this recipe is quick and easy, making it perfect for entertaining a crowd. And come on, how cute are the names?

FEELING...POLKA DOTS

Playful, yet polished, polka-dots are a fun way to add personality to traditional basics. Thanks in part to Kate Spade's September pattern of the month, polka-dots have been spotted on everything from scarves to sweaters this fall, so I decided to round up a few of my favorites.

DIY-OR-BUY: 01

I've always been a fan of "do-it-yourself" projects giving old picture frames, lamp shades, and worn jeans a new life. I love flexing my creativity and tackling a new project, all while adding a personal touch to the things I have in my closet and decor. I came up with the idea for this post because lately I've gotten in the habit of pausing to ask myself before I make a purchase: "Could I make this myself?" The answer to this question varies, but it's fun to think outside the box and get inspired to try something new. So what do you think? Would you DIY your own gilded party decor or splurge on this statement piece for your living room? For me, it's definitely a tie!
