Watermelon Moscow Mule

Moscow mules are one of my favorite summertime drinks and to be honest, I never really thought you could improve on this classic cocktail, until I tried this variation. The addition of freshly squeezed watermelon juice creates a refreshing twist on this summer staple that is absolutely perfect for cooling off on hot summer nights.

WATERMELON MOSCOW MULE

INGREDIENTS:

Fresh watermelon
1 shot vodka
1 small lime, juiced
1 bottle ginger beer

 DIRECTIONS:

1. Add watermelon to cocktail shaker.
2. Use a muddler to juice 1 ounce worth of watermelon.
3. Combine watermelon juice, vodka and lime juice into cocktail shaker filled with ice.
4. Strain into moscow mule mug filled with ice.
5. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a lime twist and watermelon wedge.

Round Mirror Inspiration

In a little less than a month I will be moving from a tiny apartment to a house with my roommate, which brings about a mixture of emotions. I am excited to have more a little more space, a garage and especially a yard, but I can't help but feel a little overwhelmed about the whole moving process and packing up everything I own. Anyways, despite my lack of enthusiasm about the move itself, I am looking forward to updating my decor and I cannot wait to decorate my new room. Lately, I have been loving the look of round mirrors above dressers and I am hoping to replicate this look in my new room.

Woah. I have no idea how it's already the first week in June, but I am not complaining! After a busy few weeks I am more than ready for a relaxing weekend and I am looking forward to catching up on a few projects that have been neglected for far too long. Summer always seems to be the time of year where there is so much going on, but I love the simplicity of sipping cocktails on a patio or relax poolside with friends. Anyways, as I begin to countdown to the weekend, I'd thought I'd share this simple and refreshing cocktail with you. Cheers to the weekend!
